We discussed Lou’s recent film that was influenced by her interest in graphic novels. It used the interior of a café, a conversation, suggestions of other places, still images, a voice and music. The approach to storytelling in Lou’s film in Ovada last year combined with image suggesting/imagining to create an engaging, subtle and intriguing piece that gave us plenty to discuss. It was fun to be back at Ovada with Darla, Kay, Katy, Lou and Alex after the winter warmth of MOA.
After the film discussion Lou had arranged a table downstairs in Borders where we gathered a selection of Graphic Novels and settled happily, accompanied by the not so occasional loud speaker announcements.
We had a brief catch up as to what we are up to - there’s a lot - and we thought we’d reflect – possibly act - over the coming month how we use this blog (or forget to) and other options like twitter etc
Thanks Lou – it was a fascinating discussion – and I am beginning to grasp some of the range and possibility of the graphic novel
Next month having found the list….
Kay will be chairing for next three months and Claire is our May host (May 9th)
